V Ravi Sankar is a double post graduate in Physics and Business Administration. He worked as a Lecturer in National Defense Academy, Pune before joining in VSNL (now TATA Communications) 1988. After working in Transmission section for a couple of years in TATA Communications at Mumbai, he was one of the team members who installed and commissioned first Digital Switch, AXE-10 in VSNL India

He was deputed to STPI in 1993 as team member for Commissioning their satellite E/S in Hyderabad. Later he worked in International Gateway Switch of VSNL, Chennai from 1994 to 2000 where he was involved in National Network planning and maintenance. He participated in installation of Ericsson Switch with ISDN capabilities. From 2002 to 2003 he worked as system administrator in Hyderabad and was instrumental in starting switching operations there. He took the charge of VSNL Lanka Ltd. (now known as TATA Communications Lanka Ltd.) in September 2003 and has been instrumental in operationalizing the business.

Mr. Ravi Sankar has extensive background in complex and challenging international environments with proven ability to represent the company with Customers and Strategic Partners. Expertise with complex engineered systems that require deep understanding of critical technology trade-offs alongwith their business drivers across multiple markets. Core competencies in Strategy Planning, Project Management, Operations & Maintenance, Installation and Commissioning and Customer Support in the Telecom Sector. Excellent communication and people management skills that have been honed through managing multi skilled teams. Exceptionally well organised with a track record that demonstrates self motivation, creativity, and initiative to achieve both personal & corporate goals

Mr Ravi Sankar was deputed to Ericsson Academy Malaysia for a training on AXE Switch Installation and Testing. He was also deputed to Shiraj (Iran) & Beijing and Luoyang (China) to organize communication facilities to visiting Hon'ble Prime Minister of India.
